Chicago Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Parade 1986

The celebration commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Chicago Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Parade:

On June 13, 1986, the Chicago Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Parade became the largest parade of its kind in the history of America. Over 200,000 veterans and their families marched proudly down the streets of Chicago to the applause of over 300,000
spectators.

The video was put together by Jack Jeter’s sister Janice Colao from B 2/7 Vietnam pictures and  later reunion photos. Janice did a wonderful job in selecting the songs for the audio score. She uses all of this to tell the story of the soldiers’ personal involvement in Vietnam covering the early days of the war, the more difficult days when the fighting reached its peak, the winding down of the conflict, and finally the happier days after the end of the war.

The original 30-minute DVD-quality video was shown at the 68-69 B 2/7 2008 reunion in Washington, D.C. and was definitely the emotional favorite. We think you all will appreciate and love it, too.

I have condensed the original (video/audio quality, not content) and split it into its 4 logical parts for more efficient display on the site, but I don’t think it detracts from it at all. You will need Quicktime to play it. That was the most efficient format available to me to make the modifications required.
